December 2025
Latest News:
Lately, art life has been mostly just trying to be diligent about doing at least one practice sketch each day. And most days I succeed.
This definitely helps improve my drawing ability, and keeps me going even when I don’t have a good idea or good motivation to take on a larger project.
While life has calmed down in December in a lot of ways, I don’t have the energy for a challenge. My battery is low.
In The Studio:
Short term future plans look a lot like the current state. Long-term plans are nonexistent.
Right now I just aim to keep drawing regularly, paint when I feel like it, and keep trying to make and post content of the process.
I have some ideas about future projects, but right now that low battery is keeping me from getting started. I will get moving on something fun soon.
At Home:
At the moment, the dogs are doing well, happy and spunky.
The busy holiday season at work has calmed down.
The weather has been varied. We’ve had some snow, but also some nice mild days. This week there were a couple of days of high winds (75 mph/120 kph gusts). That’s too windy for me. The dogs don’t like it, it frightens them a bit and they want to get back inside. I don’t blame them.
As I write, there are winter storm warnings, expecting up to 18 inches of snow (12-18 inches/30-45 cm), mainly on New Year’s Eve. I already had big plans to stay in, snuggled up warm and safe with the dogs, so I don’t expect to be out in it. I hope to be asleep before midnight. But I still hope it doesn’t hit us too hard, I hate clearing snow, it’s just so much work.
I hope your New Year holiday is safe and fun, with bright hopes for the months ahead.
May the new year be better than the last.
Wishing you peace and joy,
Jennifer
