Germany is coming back!
If you read last month’s newsletter, you know that new laws for shipping to Germany created requirements that I can’t reasonably meet, and I had to discontinue shipping to Germany for my Etsy shop.
But I recently got news that some changes were made to those terms, and I can resume shipping to Germany, as long as it’s through my print provider. Yay!
All that’s left is that I need to go update the shipping options on all my listings, which I will do soon.
This development also has me rethinking the possibility of resuming shipping to the other EU countries as well.
The wording of their rules is a little more vague, but I disabled all of the EU thinking that the other countries were likely to follow Germany’s lead with their regulations. If I follow that same logic, maybe it’s OK to resume shipping to the rest of the EU as well.
I’m going to give it some more thought.
In The Studio:
Well, the “studio” is still just collecting dust, so to speak.
I have lots of ideas and really want to draw and paint more, and maybe make some new items for the Etsy shop… But there never seems to be enough time in a day.
I will get there! I will figure it out, I’m determined!
At Home:
Life has seemed quite busy, even though it feels like not enough is getting done. I tell myself I need to prioritize more art, and work on the Etsy shop… but…
There was a day spent at the art museum and botanical garden, which is a treat. It also brings inspiration and a welcome break from regular responsibilities, to be out and about and enjoying myself.
I planted three more trees in the yard!
There’s an Eastern Redbud (standard), Eastern Redbud (Forest Pansy), and a Chinese Kousa Dogwood. I love them all!
I think the highlight of this month for me was going to the Asian Lantern Festival event at my local zoo.
It was really impressive seeing all the incredible lanterns lit up after dark. Following the paths through the trees, with large animal shaped lanterns, some of them animated, was quite enchanting. The creativity and work that went into that event was on another level.
Most of the music that played throughout the zoo was serene Asian music, but there was a K-pop stage (which I love), an Asian Food market (Yum), and even a drone show.
I think I’m going to have to go every year!
The dogs are doing well.
They are so silly and rowdy together. They love to chase each other (when not chasing squirrels), tug toys together, and wrestle. And then snuggle together and rest (as long as it isn’t too hot out). Besties to the core!
