February 2026
Latest News:
February brought a couple of Chinese New Year themed digital paintings.
I’m super proud of them. The style is different than my usual style, maybe that was why they were such a flop on social media, lol.
But I love them anyway. So much, in fact, that I’m going to get some things printed for myself featuring these two paintings. Maybe a T-shirt each, a few cards, and prints to hang on the wall. I love these two paintings, even though no one else does.
In The Studio:
I lost a little momentum on drawing and posting daily this month. I’m still posting several times a week, but I really would like to get back to that daily routine.
I’ve just started a small series of anatomy study sketches (two are out so far). Each one features a portion of a dog’s anatomy and of a specified breed. I’m doing the same study on two different breeds to better understand the similarities and differences between them.
I also have plans for more digital paintings for myself, to hang at home. A couple of these ideas don’t feature dogs, but I’m sure I will share them anyway, when the time comes.
At Home:
Things seem to be going smoothly at home at the moment. I’m always very grateful when there is an absence of problems that need to be addressed.
The dogs are doing well. Very happy and energetic. Time with them is always a bright spot in my day.
Currently, the weather has turned quite tolerable for this time of year. After a long stretch of extreme cold and lots of snow, it’s a relief to get a stretch with daytime temperatures above freezing. The snow has finally almost completely melted, and we can see the Earth again. It almost feels like spring is on its way, even though I know there’s more winter weather to come.
I hope your world has lots of signs of spring creeping in. It’s not too far off now.
May you be blessed with lots of sunny days!
