Latest News:

May brings three new digital paintings, Blooming Podenco, Duality, and New Friends.

Blooming Podenco features a stunning white Podenco in a field of wildflowers. She stands in the evening sun, and brings with her a peaceful spring/summer vibe.

Duality is a fun image of two greyhounds, one black and one white, playing joyfully together, mirroring each others moves.

New Friends illustrates the first meeting between two sweet, happy Italian greyhounds. They look bright and spunky and ready to play together.

In The Studio:

At the moment I seem drawn to making paintings of happy dogs in fields of flowers. I like the bright pops of color, they seem cheerful and hopeful.

I should probably mix it up a little with the environments, but for now, I might just go with it. Maybe it helps me to focus on making something with a cheerful feel to it.

I’ve been doing more little sketches lately. Just tiny, quick sketches. They aren’t much, but I might share a few of them just for fun.

I’m trying to make sketching daily a habit, even just 10 minutes. But trying to form new good habits can be hard, I do it for four or five days, then forget for three… and have to try to get back on track.

At Home:

I’m not really sure what to say here. I’m still not okay after losing my precious little man last month. I know it’s spring, but it really feels like the sun doesn’t shine without him.

I spend all day at work, around people, holding myself together and pretending to be okay. But once I leave, all bets are off. I rarely even make it home without breaking down.

For now I’m just accepting that it’s okay to not be okay. I just need to take care of myself and give my poor little broken heart whatever time it needs.

In the meantime, I dote on my happy little Chihuahua extra. We play together and she’s been learning the joy of clicker training with lots of fun tricks, and getting so many yummy treats.

She’s learning what it is to be an only dog in the household (for now). She gets all the treats, love and attention…but she’s also the only one there when her poor mum needs the emotional support Chihuahua, lol.

I hope that your spring has been lovely, with plenty of sunshine and fun, creating special memories with those you love.

Thank you so much for being here, sharing my journey of dogs and art, love and loss.

God bless!

Jennifer
